1. About Us

These Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases made from J.A. Woodroffe Jewellers (“we”, “us”, “our”) via www.jawoodroffe.com.

By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

2. Eligibility & Use of Website

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order on our Website. You agree not to misuse the Website or breach any applicable laws.

3. Products & Descriptions

  • We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, images, and prices are accurate.

  • Due to photography and screen settings, colours and appearance may vary slightly.

  • Product measurements and weights are approximate.

  • All jewellery is subject to natural variations in gemstones and precious metals.

4. Orders & Contract Formation

  • Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase.

  • An order is only accepted once we send you an order confirmation email.

  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders due to pricing errors, stock availability, or suspected fraud.

5. Prices & Payment

  • All prices are in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable.

  • Payment must be made in full at the time of order.

  • We accept payment via secure third-party payment providers (e.g. Shopify Payments, PayPal, Klarna).

  • We do not store payment card details.

6. Delivery

  • Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.

  • Risk of loss or damage passes to you once the goods are delivered.

  • Title to goods passes upon full payment.

7. Returns & Cancellation (Consumer Rights)

7.1 Your Right to Cancel (Online Orders)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, unless an exemption applies.

You must notify us in writing and return the item unused, in its original condition and packaging.

7.2 Exclusions

The right to cancel does not apply to:

  • Bespoke or made-to-order jewellery

  • Personalised or engraved items

  • Earrings (for hygiene reasons), unless faulty

8. Faulty or Misdescribed Goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose.

If your item is faulty:

  • You are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate.

  • Please contact us as soon as possible.

Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, or misuse are not considered faults.

9. Jewellery Care & Wear

  • Jewellery should be worn and stored with care.

  • We are not responsible for damage caused by improper use, exposure to chemicals, or failure to follow care instructions.

  • Stone loss or metal wear due to normal use is not considered a manufacturing fault.

10. Bespoke & Custom Orders

  • Bespoke or customised jewellery is made to your specifications and is non-refundable unless faulty.

  • Minor variations are inherent in handcrafted items and do not constitute defects.

11. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • Any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on this Website, including text, images, logos, and designs, is owned by or licensed to J.A. Woodroffe Jewellers and may not be used without prior written consent.

13. Privacy & Cookies

Your use of our Website is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, available on our Website.

14. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, or supply chain disruption.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
